A hydraulic brake is a system of brake mechanism which makes the use of pressurised fluid in order to transmit brake pedal force to the wheel brakes.

Basics of working of hydraulic brake:
Apply brakes first by stepping on brake pedal. It creates
pressure in the oil in the master cylinder. The pressured oil enters wheel
cylinder. This pressure moves the brake pistons which in turn move the brake
shoes and the brake gets applied.
Brake bleeding:
The most important component in the process of brake
bleeding is the bleeding valve. The bleeding valve consists of the bleeding nipple.
A pipe is connected to the nipple which is dipped in the jar with brake fluid.

Process:
If you have a brake bleeder machine, then you can perform
the process all by yourself. But if you don’t, then two people are required to
carry out the process.
Raise the car to a certain height using a jack. Be sure that
the car is stable at this height by giving it a light push.
Remove the wheels, take the cover off the master cylinder.
A good amount of brake fluid should be available in the
master cylinder. Now from inside the car, the brake pedals are pushed, but at
this time, the brake valve is closed. A pressure gets created inside the wheel
cylinder. Now the bleed valve is opened slowly. The air escapes out and the
brake oil flows in the jar. Now the bleed valve is closed and the brake pedal is
released.
Lower your car, and test the brakes.
Bleeding the brakes by yourself can be hectic and time
consuming. The process can be messy and dangerous sometimes. So it is better to
leave this process to a professional.
